Sol Dos And Don'ts
When trying to figure out how to learn your body type, things can get a bit complicated. To figure out how to navigate around your body type, here is a more detailed guide on learning the do’s and don’ts when you are a Sol.
We will be delving into what goes into our bodies: food and drink.
FOODS
DO: Eat Sol-friendly foods such as pork and beef. These meats are considered to be on the warmer part of the spectrum and more friendly for the balance of your Qi. Vegetables and fruits that are grown during the beginning of spring with good sun exposure are crucial for your body’s balance. If you are looking for a high-fiber vegan option, keep an eye out for beans such as black, legume, and mung beans.
If you are a fan of berries, you’re in luck! Help yourself to plums, pears, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries, in moderation of course.
DON'TS: Paying attention to how the weather affects your body is crucially important. It is obvious that we are not in control of the weather, but we are in control of what goes into our bodies during the seasons. Sol types may be slightly more tolerant to the chilly climate but can still be vulnerable during the cold, windy seasons.
The goal here is to keep your inner temperature warm. Instead of buying a cold brew, opt for some hot tea or a noncoffee drink such as a matcha latte.
Summer can be quite difficult for a Sol type. Because the Sol already has a warm inner core, the hot summer months can feel unbearable with overheating and excessive sweating. This can lead up to headaches and even bloody noses when the inner part of your nose becomes extremely dry. Eating hot foods such as garlic, onions, and chili can make things worse by further drying out the inside of the body. Unlike the Luna type, watermelon can be beneficial for Sol during the hot weather. However, there are four leafy greens that are considered to be too cold and dry, even for a Sol. Be cautious with how often you consume broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and chard.
Take a look at the chart below to see a summary of harmful and beneficial foods.

DRINKS
DO: Drink Sol-friendly beverages such as milk, Earl Grey, and preferably, homemade noncitrus fruit juices. However, warm drinks are preferred to maintain a healthy inner temperature.
DON’TS: Acidic drinks are a big no when it comes to the Sol. There are acidic beverages that are obviously not good for your health such as sodas and store-bought juices. Additionally, even homemade orange juice and lemonade can cause damage. The most common symptom when consumed excessively is constipation.
If you are a coffee drinker and a Sol type, you may have to consider cutting down on the coffee. Coffee is very acidic and causes strain to the liver as well as acid reflux. If you are a regular consumer and want a similar fix, consider switching up your routine to Sol-friendly teas or non-coffee-based lattes.
Although you need nutrients from some of these items, it is best to approach them with moderation and caution.
