Sol Dos And Don'ts
This post discusses the dos and don’ts for the Sol type and their relationship with food.
When trying to figure out how to learn your body type, things can get a bit complicated. To figure out how to navigate around your body type, here is a more detailed guide on learning the do’s and don’ts when you are a Sol.
We will be delving into what goes into our bodies: food and drink.
FOODS
DO: Eat Sol-friendly foods such as pork and beef. These meats are considered to be on the warmer part of the spectrum and more friendly for the balance of your Qi. Vegetables and fruits that are grown during the beginning of spring with good sun exposure are crucial for your body’s balance. If you are looking for a high-fiber vegan option, keep an eye out for beans such as black, legume, and mung beans.
If you are a fan of berries, you’re in luck! Help yourself to plums, pears, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries, in moderation of course.
DON'TS: Paying attention to how the weather affects your body is crucially important. It is obvious that we are not in control of the weather, but we are in control of what goes into our bodies during the seasons. Sol types may be slightly more tolerant to the chilly climate but can still be vulnerable during the cold, windy seasons.
The goal here is to keep your inner temperature warm. Instead of buying a cold brew, opt for some hot tea or a noncoffee drink such as a matcha latte.
Summer can be quite difficult for a Sol type. Because the Sol already has a warm inner core, the hot summer months can feel unbearable with overheating and excessive sweating. This can lead up to headaches and even bloody noses when the inner part of your nose becomes extremely dry. Eating hot foods such as garlic, onions, and chili can make things worse by further drying out the inside of the body. Unlike the Luna type, watermelon can be beneficial for Sol during the hot weather. However, there are four leafy greens that are considered to be too cold and dry, even for a Sol. Be cautious with how often you consume broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and chard.
Take a look at the chart below to see a summary of harmful and beneficial foods.

DRINKS
DO: Drink Sol-friendly beverages such as milk, Earl Grey, and preferably, homemade noncitrus fruit juices. However, warm drinks are preferred to maintain a healthy inner temperature.
DON’TS: Acidic drinks are a big no when it comes to the Sol. There are acidic beverages that are obviously not good for your health such as sodas and store-bought juices. Additionally, even homemade orange juice and lemonade can cause damage. The most common symptom when consumed excessively is constipation.
If you are a coffee drinker and a Sol type, you may have to consider cutting down on the coffee. Coffee is very acidic and causes strain to the liver as well as acid reflux. If you are a regular consumer and want a similar fix, consider switching up your routine to Sol-friendly teas or non-coffee-based lattes.
Although you need nutrients from some of these items, it is best to approach them with moderation and caution.

Luna Dos And Don'ts
This post discusses the dos and don’ts of the Luna for a better understanding of their body type and their relationship with food.
When trying to figure out how to learn your body type, things can get a bit complicated. To figure out how to navigate around your body type, here is a more detailed guide on learning the do’s and don’ts when you are a Luna.
We will be delving into what goes into our bodies: food and drink.
FOODS
DO: Eat Luna-friendly foods such as chicken and tofu. These meats are considered to be on the cooler part of the spectrum and more friendly for the balance of your Qi. Also, vegetables and fruits that are grown during the summer with half sun exposure and shade are crucial for your body’s balance. Most vegetables that grow from the ground are a plus.
Additionally, keep an eye out for hot “spicy” teas such as ginger, turmeric, and lemon teas. It may seem tempting to gulp down several cups but it is best to limit yourself to at least one cup and a half to avoid “overheating”.
DON'TS: The biggest harm you can do to your body is to not take into consideration the weather. Most people would say having cold desserts and beverages taste the best during the winter. Little do they know the body becomes the most vulnerable during the coldest time of the year. DO NOT overwhelm your body with cold foods and beverages during the cold and windy weather. Instead, opt for a hot cup of ginger tea!
Summer can get really hot and humid causing that craving for a slice of watermelon. Unfortunately, watermelon can be pretty harmful if you overindulge. Because the watermelon is best grown in partial shade, close to the ground, and absorbs a significant amount of water, it is considered a very “cold” type of fruit. The same can be said for mangos, papaya and cucumbers. When it comes to these types of foods, moderation is key!
Take a look at the chart below to see a summary of harmful and beneficial foods.
Foods Harmful For Luna Types
Foods Beneficial For Luna Types
DRINKS
DO: Drink Luna-friendly beverages such as ginger, green, and turmeric tea. If you are a big fan of iced coffees, try lavender, matcha, or chai lattes! If you would like to try a healthy form of a latte, try making Golden Milk. Golden Milk consists of heated turmeric, honey, and milk and has numerous health benefits. Although two of the three ingredients are great for Luna's Qi, be cautious with how often you consume dairy!
DON’TS: As previously mentioned, cold drinks during freezing weather have a substantial negative impact on your body. But even an excessive amount of these other “cold” drinks during normal weather can cause some harm. Refrigerated beverages such as sodas and beer can cause you to feel bloated for days. If this is you, help out your liver and consider stopping or lowering your intake of alcohol.
Another tricky beverage is milk. Whether it is in a glass or in your bowl of cereal, drinking milk every day can stack up common symptoms that can be happening to you right now such as often experiencing diarrhea and stomach aches.
Although you need nutrients from some of these items, it is best to approach them with moderation and caution.

Korean Acupuncture is all about properly adjusting to the changes your body goes through. During this time of the month, your body can be overwhelmed with painful cramps. Health Trends To Avoid When You Are A Sol
This post talks about how which beauty beverage trends can be harmful to your body as well as suggestions for the Sol types.
Trends pop up on social media with all sorts of different methods for weight loss or acne. If you have done these before, you might notice that you may have a different effect after drinking these viral health drinks. Unfortunately, these might do more harm than good and may not even give you the results you seek.
If You are a Sol Type, Avoid These Three Health Trends
Ginger shots for glowing skin- Ginger shots are one of the most popular detox drinks shared on social media. The health benefits and results are highly positive which can be tempting to include in your daily health routine. Unfortunately for the Sol type, ingesting such a strong spice can easily overheat the inside of the body leading to discomfort and constipation. This can even do the opposite and dry out your skin! It is recommended to limit the consumption of ginger shots if possible.
Cayenne pepper, lemon, and ginger shots for body cleanse- We have already covered why consuming ginger can be harmful to the body. Cayenne pepper and lemon are said to be the ultimate combination for cleaning the body of toxins. Mixing all three spicy and acidic ingredients is not ideal when you already have a warmer inner core. Think of eating boiling soup on a hot summer day, you’ll just overheat.
Apple Cider Vinegar and turmeric for weight loss- Drinking a shot of apple cider alone every day is risky for your stomach and liver. Adding honey balances it out slightly, but is still not recommended for daily consumption. Turmeric is also a spice packed with heat and can be overwhelming for Sol’s body type to absorb. Practice caution when using turmeric for cooking purposes as well!

Health Trends To Avoid When You Are A Luna
This post discusses which beauty beverage trends are harmful and which beauty trends are beneficial for the Luna body type.
Trends pop up on social media with all sorts of different methods for weight loss or acne. If you have done these before, you might notice that you may have a different effect after drinking these viral health drinks. Unfortunately, these might do more harm than good and may not even give you the results you seek.
If You are a Luna Type, Avoid These Three Health Trends
Watermelon water detox for glowing skin- Cleaning the gut is crucial to have glowing skin. For the Luna type, watermelons are considered to be too cold for the stomach. Since the gut is connected to the exterior health of the skin, the gut can become excessively cold, leading to dry skin. Avoid drinking this every day or throw in some Luna-friendly citrus fruits such as orange for balance.
Cucumber, mint, and crushed ice detox for body cleanse- This is a standard drink to do a total body cleanse after a night out or a month of excessive eating. However, this may do the opposite if your interior core is cool. The cucumber is cold and packed with water. Mint is also considered to be a cold herb.
The most important thing to look out for is crushed ice. Ice can be detrimental to the core and stomach, causing the meridian pathways to decrease in temperature and become blocked by the cold Qi called Yin. A good substitute is to eliminate the ice and sprinkle in a dash of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat. Balance is key.
Papaya, mango, and yogurt detox for weight loss- To put it simply, all three of these ingredients would make a great smoothie, but will definitely reduce the temperature in your system. Side effects from dairy and even Greek yogurt can cause bloating if consumed too often.

Getting Yourself Started With Acupuncture
This post discusses the benefits of acupuncture that may suit your needs.
What are the Benefits of Acupuncture?
Acupuncture points are believed to be connected to the central nervous system. Imbalances and blockages of the Qi (energy) are thought to take the form of physical ailments. The needles are methodically inserted into the patient’s skin to help with qi blockages and help the energy balance and flow. These are just a few examples of what acupuncture can do for you:
Types of Acupuncture
Chinese Acupuncture –The needles for this practice are usually large and thick. These needles are placed deeper into the patient’s pressure point to cause a deliberate sensation when inserted. Heat is usually paired with the treatment to maximize the flow of energy through the body. Through a technique called Moxibustion, herbs such as wormwood and mugwort are used to burn at the tips of the needles to promote healing and improve qi stimulation.
Korean Acupuncture – Similar to Chinese acupuncture, the focus is on the manipulation and activation of the qi through the body. The most common technique used in Korean acupuncture is called the ‘four-needle technique’ due to the number of needles placed for treatment throughout the body. Even when using only four needles, the effectiveness of the technique provides various benefits for the treatment of all kinds of different ailments.
How is Korean Acupuncture Different?
The focus of Korean acupuncture is to locate the disruption of qi in the body’s meridian pathways and provide the necessary treatment for the specific illness or disease. In using the ‘four needle technique’, the needles are methodically rotated to increase and decrease qi in the body. This brings about balance and restoration. In our clinic, we pair your treatments with herbal medicine for you to reap the best benefits during your healing process.

Sol vs Luna: Why You Should Know Your Body Type
This post will help you understand the differences between two body types and how it may affect your lifestyle.
If you are wondering why your stomach hurts after eating a spicy meal while your friends seem to not be fazed by it at all, there might be a reason. In this blog post, we will be discussing the basic theory of the Luna and Sol individual and how these two types are affected by specific circumstances.
How A Luna Type Works
The Luna type is described to have a colder inner core. The core includes the throat, the stomach, the gastrointestinal down to the urinary tract. Because the core is the coldest part of the body, it is vital to keep the temperature consistently cool to avoid any ailments. When the core becomes warmer or even too cold, symptoms of sickness may arise. Korean acupuncture upholds the idea that balance is essential to keep the body stable and healthy from the inside out.
What Might Make You a Luna Type
Sensitivity to Dry Foods: If you haven’t noticed, during the windy winter months, your skin becomes dry, cracked, and dehydrated. To combat that you usually use hand cream or moisturizer to bounce your skin back to some level of rehydration. Now, imagine eating dry ingredients such as bread, pasta, and cereal when your body is dried out and in desperate need of hydration during the coldest time of the year. An excessive amount of consumption of these foods may lead to symptoms such as unsettling, gurgling sounds of the stomach, or even diarrhea. Although having a cooler core is essential for good health, Luna types tend to have a higher tolerance for spicy foods.
Sensitivity to Milk and Beer: There are many drinks out there that are considered harmful to the Luna type’s stomach and gastric intestines due to their “cold” nature. A couple of examples of this would be excessive consumption of milk and beer. The Luna type may experience painful stomach aches and may even find themselves burping frequently.
Weather: Luna types tend to have more sensitivity during winter and fall, especially when it is windy. During the cold months, they may have a difficult time with their health which makes them more prone to sicknesses such as the average cold or the Flu.
How a Sol Type Works
This type is described to have a hotter inner core. Because the core is the hottest part of the body, it is important to keep the temperature consistently warm to avoid serious ailments. Just like the Luna type, when the gastrointestinal becomes warmer or too hot, symptoms can arise.
What Might Make You a Sol Type
Sensitivity to Hot Foods: Maybe you are a lover of spicy foods and can never get enough of that hot sauce. But afterward, you feel the discomfort in your stomach leading to a struggle in the bathroom. An excessive amount of chili and garlic may be very hard on a Sol-type’s stomach. The Sol type tends to experience lower digestive tolerance when it comes to chili and garlic.
Sensitivity to Coffee and Spicy Teas: Coffee is a very acidic beverage. If drunk often, the Sol type might have the common symptom of gut or stomach pain. Ginger is also considered a hot, spicy herb. This herb is very popular when it comes to detox teas and beauty water. However, if consumed daily, the hot properties of the herb can cause an overabundance of heat within the body leading to symptoms such as constipation and bloating.
Weather: Sol types tend to have more sensitivity during the Spring and Summer seasons. During the months of heatwaves, they may have a difficult time with their health which makes them more prone to ailments such as sinus infections and migraines.
